Why warrants matter: Local Home raided on Drug Bust Warrant
By Michael D. Barber, Georgia Lawyer specializing in DUI, Drug Charges & Criminal Defense
Various agencies for the government raided both a home and house in relation to a warrant for a drug search according to various sources, (Patch, AJC, reporter news).
The agencies, the DEA, Brookhaven Police Department, DeKalb County SWAT, raided the home based on I a ongoing year long investigation into mysterious dealings in and around the home.
The occupants of the home were charged with Possession of Methamphetamine (Meth), Forgery in the Second Degree, Conspiracy, Destruction of evidence.
Warrants are a dangerous issue with any investigation because if they are not done or performed properly, then the entire case that is being built can be deconstructed and possibly dismissed. Warrants are sworn out before a judge to establish that the reporting officer believes he has enough information that the judge should grant an order for an ability to search an area for illegal items or wanted people that is, or are, normally protected from the police (or other branch of the government).
If you have been accused by the police of Possession of Meth (or any drug), served a warrant resulting in an arrest, or other criminal charges then you need help from a trained attorney.
